Corona Virus Recommendations:
Play: I recommend National theatre plays. They seem to be posting lots on youtube and their website of recorded plays you can watch at home. I saw a play called "One man, two Guvnors" (starring James Corden- the carpool karaoke guy) which made me laugh a lot.
Exercise: I also recommend PE with joe, an online personal trainer that does fun workouts to help you stay active. Watch live at nine every week day or later (if you are not such an early bird) on Youtube. @the body coach
Games: This is pretty obvious but I recommend board games as a way to spend time with family as-well as card games as there are lot of fun games you can play wit a pack fo cards. These are all relatively quick games- Queens, spoons, magic cards, go fish, cheat and Black Jack. I guess you can only play the board games you have but I recommend trivia games like beat the parents and Trivial pursuit as well as more strategic games such as 'Skipbo' (or uno), 'Monopoly', 'Battleships', 'Linkee' and 'Dobble'
Ways to stay connected - (other than house party) I really recommend 'Zoom'.
Art -I also would like to link some art websites for drawing portraits.
Sometimes I struggle keeping this proportionate- this helps https://www.thedrawingsource.com/proportions-of-the-face.html
Food- Meals you can cook include risotto, this process really isn't hard and I used a recipe for cheesy peasy risotto (you should do this with an adult though) . You can also try cooking pasta and egg dishes and stews. For desert make cookies, cornflake cakes and cakes. For recipes that take into account food shortages check out 'Magic water cake' 'ww2 honey cookies' and John Torode's (from Masterchef) youtube video entitled John Torode's Coronavirus Isolation Meal Ideas | This Morning. UPDATE Sat:11/4/20... Yesterday I made a vegetable stew. I made it ethical as part of a guides badge called Ethical cooking. I chose that all the ingredients shoul be grown in the uk and assume that farmers in the uk are payed a fair amount of money and also decided this as it reduces transport distance and that is good for the environment thus more ethical. TIP: Use a spoonful of minced onions to give extra flavour and thickness to your stew. Video of recipe will be published on this blog
Tv shows- for june my top two TV shows have to be _Stranger Things_
Movie- I will update this when I have actually watched a movie as a family which has not happened so far.
