Hello quick update- for easier navigation I decided to split up my book reviews onto different pages. Above is a link to different posts. This is a page where you can read reviews and tips on something I love, books. I basically only read fiction so sorry to all the non-fiction fans. You can also request books for me to read or review. Looks cool? Read on....
Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens
This book series has two main characters, the narrator (and my favourite character) Hazel and her best friend Daisy. 'Like Malory towers meets Agatha Christie'. This Victorian era series set sometimes in a school Deepdean in the English countryside (and lots of the time elsewhere) is about schoolgirl detectives solving baffling murders. It includes; mystery, murder, friendship and touches on the problems of people of different (not English) nationalities living in England.
"But this is that rare thing: a series that gets better with every book." - The Telegraph.
I totally agree as with each book the characters develop. My all-time fav book of this series has to be 'Death in the spotlight' because of the setting and the it's unexpected twists and turns. (tip- do read these in order though).
I was obsessed with these about 2 years ago (around 10 yrs old) when reading them. I thought these books had ended but apparently the final novel in the award-winning Murder Most Unladylike series is coming this August!
Update- I've read the last book - Death Sets Sail (set in Egypt)- and it was just as good and shocking as the other books. I can now say I've finished the last book in a great long series.
RH image: My friend went to Waterstones and managed to meet the author (Robin). Jealous. She also managed to get some 'Detective society' badges for me and some other friends.
